Junior Achievement of Central Ohio BizTown

Columbus, Ohio

Junior Achievement of Central Ohio provides local students the chance to experience how basic economic concepts manifest in the real world through BizTown, a four-stage program where students in fourth through sixth-grade can experience both responsibility and entrepreneurship in a free-enterprise.

Last year, JA BizTown had outgrown their space.  Their location in a limited-access industrial park was also less than ideal. That’s when the community stepped in.  The Columbus City Schools agreed to provide a new location – an unused facility in need of rehabilitation. Pepper donated our management services to demo the old location so it could be repurposed, and build out the interiors of the new location for BizTown.

Inspiring New Paths for our Community

Pepper Ohio President Paul Francois serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement, and leads their operations committee. In addition to partnering on a new home for BizTown, Pepper Ohio has led the construction industry in support of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio. Each year, Pepper and their industry partners host a fundraiser for the organization. Together, they have raised $113,000 since 2010.

Pepper Construction has truly stepped up as a partner to Junior Achievement. They not only help us transform our physical space, they stepped up with financial support as well. WE appreciate their leadership, their kindness and their long-term commitment to changing kids' lives. It's pretty rare to find a company that blends great business, great humanity and a strong sense of purpose as you find when you work with the people from Pepper.
